10K NTC -10/75C 4-20mA

ROI-10KXMAN1075C

10K NTC thermistor to
4‑20mA transmitter,
−10 to 75 °C

Read 10K NTC thermistors with your PLC. The ROI-XMA transmitter converts the thermistor to a loop-powered 4-20mA signal, so a spare PLC analog input becomes a temperature input.

Thermistor temperature
on a standard 4-20mA input

The ROI-XMA series is a family of loop-powered 4-20mA thermistor temperature transmitters. This version reads a 10K ohm NTC thermistor over −10 to 75 °C. The output circuit is reverse connection protected and filtered.

Thermistors suit limited temperature ranges, where they can achieve higher precision than other temperature sensors. Existing 10K NTC thermistors can be connected to modern control systems without replacing the sensor.

  • Pluggable Euro connectors for fast wiring and replacement
  • Snap-on base for 35 mm DIN rail or surface mounting
  • Wide loop supply from 7.5 to 36 V DC
  • Reads into PLC, RTU and PC analog systems
  • Works with 20 mA, 5 V and 10 V measurement inputs

Two wires in, two wires out

The thermistor connects to the input with two wires. The 4-20mA output is also a two-wire connection: the transmitter is wired in series with the loop supply and the measuring input, and draws its power from the loop.

Connect to a voltage input

A loop termination resistor is required when the measuring device is a voltage ADC. A 250 Ω resistor gives 1–5 V, and 500 Ω gives 2–10 V.

Add a thermistor to a PLC

  1. Mount the transmitter on DIN rail near the thermistor.
  2. Wire the thermistor to the two input terminals.
  3. Wire the loop in series with the supply and a spare PLC 4-20mA input.
  4. Scale 4–20 mA to −10 to 75 °C in the PLC.
